The other night,my wife Andrea and I went out to a relatively new Bellingham restaraunt, the Fountain. It is always great to find new places to go out in town, and this definitely beat my expectations.
What I love about the Fountain is two things…First, it has a laid back, yet classy feel to the place that can be surprisingly hard to find in Bellingham. We have a lot of classy expensive places, and laid back casual places, but not a lot that pull off both at the same time, and the Fountain accomplishes this. It is nice enough to have a formal anniversary dinner at, but casual enough to go down for a cup of coffee in the morning, or catch a drink with a friend.
The second thing I love is the outdoor area. I have not had a chance to enjoy it yet, but on a nice summer day, to me there is not many things better than eating out in a outdoor setting. The Fountain now has one of the best in town.
I ordered the smoked salmon pasta, which was served with a pesto and white sauce, and it was excellent.
The one negative, the seating is a little tight, so if you don’t get a booth, and it’s busy, you may end up in a tight loud setting. Other than this minor issue, I am really excited about this new addition to Bellingham.
