November home sales we are up dramatically year over year, so the positive trend continues. In November 168 homes were pending in Whatcom County, compared to 108 last year, and even more impressive, 189 closed compared to 102 last November. Inventory is down a little bit as well, so it simply adds up to another positive month in Bellingham and Whatcom County. Another encouraging sign is the average dollar per sq foot of homes sold was $160, compared to $150 this time last year. The tax credit and the incredibly low interest rates are the main two reasons why we’ve seen the market improve.
